The Israel Tennis & Education Centers Foundation is partnering with Tennis Canada for the inaugural Canada Israel U12 Team Cup. The Team Cup will bring together young athletes from the two cultures in the spirit of sportsmanship, creating memorable life and tennis experiences to develop life skills and foster lifelong friendships. 🇮🇱❤️🇨🇦

Both country’s top four girls and top four boys will participate in three days of extensive mutual training, alongside top National coaches, followed by four days of intensive team event competition between the Nations, including singles, doubles, mixed doubles with on-court captains.

Adam Ram, former doubles world No. 5, 3-time Grand Slam Doubles Champion, and ITEC alumni, said, “The young athletes will explore from an early age what it takes to be a professional player – by playing amongst themselves and meeting other aspiring players their own age – in five, six, ten years they will be world-class players. Who do I know? Because I am a product of an initiative such as this.”

The Team Cup programming will be accompanied by social and educational programming, including visiting cultural sights in each country and attending the National Bank Open presented by Rogers while in Toronto to give these young athletes a firsthand look at what it takes to be a pro.

The program will also benefit the two organizations, allowing us to share and learn from each other’s activities and best practices, taking that knowledge back to Israel to make our Centers even better for Israeli youth. We know the youth taking part in the Team Cup will be future ambassadors for both Canada and Israel, ultimately bringing our two nations closer through the bonds of tennis.

The Canada Israel U12 Team Cup is taking place August 9th – 16th, 2023 in Toronto. Stay tuned for updates on this thrilling ‘home and away’ exchange and witness the power of sport in breaking down barriers and connecting cultures.  Let’s celebrate diversity and create lasting memories through the love of tennis!
